    • 1. Henry came from Iowa to Salem, OR over the Oregon Trail in 1850, settling on Donation Land Claim # 3085, East of Salem. Removed to Washington Territory in 1862, where he engaged in ranching and operated a stage coach line between Walla Walla and Lewiston, Idaho. When he lost his cattle in the severe blizzard of 1867, he went to Mono Co, California to work for his 1st cousin, "Colonel" THOMAS BRINLEY RICKEY (the famous Cattle King of Nevada, Banker & State Senator). HENRY & ANN established a Homestead near Bridgeport, in that remote part of CA which lies East of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
